MEDICAL & SURGICAL SERVICES- Our primary services include companion animal and equine medicine and surgery. We have a separate surgical suite for complex companion animal surgeries, and an Intensive Care/Recovery area for our small animal patients who need special TLC.

We provide radiology services as well.  Most injuries and medical problems can be diagnosed with regular techniques, and for those more challenging cases, several contrast diagnostic techniques are also available.

Our state-of-the art blood testing equipment gives us same-day results on CBC's, Chemistry panels, thyroid testing, and additionally, some complex endocrine disease testing.  Diagnosing illnesses and doing pre-anesthetic screening bloodwork, just as your doctor would recomend for you, is now much faster and more accurate with this capability.   Many other blood tests are done in-house also, including Heartworm/Ehrlichia/Lyme disease testing for dogs, and Feline Leukemia/FIV virus testing for cats.   For even more specialized bloodwork, the state lab in Tifton and others nationwide are used as needed.

Heart problems?  We have equipment to do ECG testing, and a connection with cardiac specialists that enable us to diagnose and treat most heart problems and prolong your pet's lifetime.

Dentistry is an important part of your pet's medical care.  Regular cleaning, polishing, and sealant application will help keep your pet's teeth and gums healthy and fresh.

AVID microchipping services is also available, and now considered a standard of care for most any beloved pet.

For our equine patients, we have a restraining stock for reproductive work, and other services, and a clean, grassy area for procedures that require general anesthesia.

A broad base of specialists are available by referral, for very complex problems or those needing special care.

A veterinary emergency hospital is available relatively close by, for those emergencies that occur when Dr. Ackerman may not be available.  This well-equipped hospital has a doctor and technicians on location straight through the night and weekends, if round-the-clock intensive care or monitoring is needed.
